There are lots of special considerations that do have to made for pets, depending on the type of moving house that will be taking place, and just how everyone will be traveling specifically to get to the new house relocation. Here are 5 points to keep in mind when moving with pets. They are no other than these.
They are:
1. You do want to make sure that your pet is comfortable during their trip. This is the very first thing to take into account and to make happen. Your pet will be nervous and uneasy. A moving house situation can make all concerned nervous, uncomfortable and upright. Therefore, just make sure your pet or pets are calm, and under control as much as possible.
2. Make sure that your pet travels in your vehicle and with no else. Pets can get extremely nervous while traveling. Therefore, the best way to keep them behaving okay, is if they can be in your presence and where there is a caring eye watching out for them all the time. It is best to transport a pet, be it a dog or cat, in a crate that is designed for journeying overall. A dog should also have a leash as well.
3. If your pet won’t be transported by car, please do make note, that they cannot be put in the back of a moving truck. Professional movers don’t move pets. They only move furniture and other essentials. This is it. Even if you were considering it, know it cannot be done, simple as that. They may move your pet things, such as pet toys, food, and what not. However, it should be properly boxed, as if all of the other things that will removed from your old home and delivered to the new one.
4. If you are traveling to your new moving house via the airlines, this is something that can open up a whole new set of issues, especially if you are traveling with a pet or more than one pet, and these issues needs to be addressed for proper transport of all for the new house relocation where it is. This means making sure that you have a pet carrier for each and every pet moving house. You need to see if the airline will permit the carriers to all be kept in your cabin or not. Some airlines do require that all carriers be placed in luggage compartments. Other airliners do permit small pet carriers to be placed by one’s seat on the aircraft. Most airliners will require proof that all pets have proper rabies shots and whatever else they may need to verify. There is also certain age restrictions for pet air travel and extra fees that do apply too.
5. It doesn’t matter which mode of travel or transportation you do use to move your pet and yourself. However, do make sure of one thing, and that is to have an overnight kit for arrival prepared for your pet or pets. This means to have everything you will need to make sure your pet is happy, healthy, and comfortable during the moving process. This means adequate food, water, a comfort toy or toys, and whatever else.
